The Gafran is the second release in the Gundam AGE AG series. It follows the same concept as the previous Age-1 Normal — a kit focused on proportions, so the only articulation you get is the shoulders and neck. ^^; That said, thanks to that approach, the proportions when just standing there are really impressive for the price. And as expected of the AG series, a game chip is included and slots right into the backpack.

The design colors themselves have a pretty heavy, dark feel, so the molded colors aren't exactly pretty — but the basic color separation is done well enough that it still looks decent straight from a straight build. Since it's essentially a standing figure with almost no articulation, there isn't a whole lot to explore with this kit.

If you like the design, I think it's a fun and easy build — but it does feel like the kind of kit whose sales will really depend on how much the Gafran gets to shine in Gundam AGE. :-)
