Gundam AGE-1 Spallow

Release 2011. 12
Price ¥600

The second variation of Gundam AGE-1, the AGE-1 Spallow, has been released as an Advanced Grade. As you can see, just like the Titus, the body and head are the same as the Normal, with only the arms and legs changed.

Unlike the Titus, which got a bulked-up set of arms and legs, the Spallow goes for a slimmer, more sleek design. It's still a No Grade kit, but the color separation is actually pretty decent. That said, it's the same story as before — only the neck and shoulders move, and the kit is built around proportions rather than articulation. Personally though, style-wise... it feels just a slight step down compared to the Normal or Titus. ^^;

It came out as part of Gundam AGE's variation lineup, and the idea of swapping out the arms and legs on the same body depending on the situation is actually a pretty neat mechanical concept. Of course, it was probably a design policy with kit parts reuse in mind too. :-)
