Following the release of a cup noodle set bundled with 4 Gunpla kits back in August 2009, exactly one year later in August 2010, a cup noodle set featuring 3 Char's custom mobile suits in clear versions was released. Just like the previous release, the kits come bundled inside the cup noodle lid like food mascot figures — Char's Zaku, Gelgoog, and Z'Gok are all included in full clear versions.

The overall package is completely identical to the existing cup noodle plastic model series, but the clear versions give everything a slightly more premium look. Despite their small size, the parts are efficiently broken down with surprisingly good detail, and while articulation is very limited, these kits do allow for at least a little bit of posing.

For Char's Zaku II, the runners from the Char Zaku included in the previous cup noodle plastic model series were used as-is and simply molded in clear — though the weapon has been swapped from a machine gun to a bazooka. The Gelgoog and Z'Gok are of a similar quality level; they're small but satisfying to build, and the gorgeous translucent look once finished is really quite lovely.

With all sorts of plastic models coming out to celebrate the 30th anniversary, this is a fun limited release that Gunpla fans are sure to appreciate — even if it's essentially a food mascot-style kit. :-)
