------ < HY2M-MG Common Notes > ----------
The HY2M-MG series is part of the HY2M series released between 2002 and 2003, and each kit comes with LED light-up units built into MG heads. Each kit includes three MG light-up heads, and the sculpts tend to differ slightly from the original MG heads. All light-up heads use the same LED unit structure, with the LED color varying by kit — white, green, or red. There's no external switch on these LED units; instead, they use a Hall IC that turns on remotely when a magnet gets close. Each head comes with a small magnet, and you attach it to the stand or the back of the MG's neck with double-sided tape to remotely switch the LED on.

--------------------------------------------------

1. Gundam Ez-8 Light-Up Head
The sculpt is pretty much the same, but without the red stickers it looks a bit plain. That said, the red light-up effect is the clearest and best-looking among the dual-eye kits. What's especially nice is that not just the eyes, but the camera eye on top of the head lights up brightly too.

2. Gouf Custom Light-Up Head
The sculpt feels slightly stretched vertically compared to the original, which gives the mono-eye a wider exposed area — probably by design to maximize the lighting effect, and it works really well. The one downside is that, like the Zaku II, the power cables are made from a single solid plastic part, which is a bit of a letdown. Swap those out for the original ones and it'd be pretty much perfect.

3. Mass Production Gelgoog Light-Up Head
Like the Gelgoog Cannon, the sculpt feels slightly more squished than the original, so the mono-eye's exposed area is smaller. Due to the design, only about half of the light source is visible even though it's a mono-eye, which is a bit of a shame — but compared to the Gundam-type heads, the lighting effect is still pretty good.
