The HY2M-MG series is part of the HY2M lineup released between 2002 and 2003, featuring LED light-up units built into MG heads. Each kit comes with three MG light-up heads, and the sculpts tend to differ slightly from the original MG heads. All light-up heads share the same LED unit structure, with the LED color varying by kit — white, green, or red. There's no external switch on these LED units; instead, they use a Hall IC that turns on remotely when a magnet gets close. Each head comes with a small magnet, and you stick it to the display stand or the back of the MG's neck with double-sided tape to remotely switch the LED on.

1. Zeta Gundam light-up head
The sculpt is similar, but the red color separation is missing and there are no camera eye seals, so it ends up looking pretty plain. The light-up effect is also on the weak side, though you can at least make out some light coming through the upper camera eye area.

2. Gundam Mk-II AEUG version light-up head
The sculpt is pretty much the same, just without the green seals. The light-up effect is actually quite good for a dual-eye setup — you can definitely tell there's an LED in there.

3. Gundam Mk-II Titans version light-up head
Everything is identical to the AEUG version except for the molded color. The darker molded color actually makes the eyes look even brighter, which is a nice bonus.
