The HY2M-MG series is part of the HY2M lineup released between 2002 and 2003, featuring MG heads equipped with LED light-up units. Each kit includes three MG light-up heads, and they tend to differ slightly in sculpt from the original MG heads. All light-up heads share the same LED unit structure, with the LED color varying by kit — white, green, or red. There's no external switch on these LED units; instead, they use a Hall IC that turns on remotely when a magnet is brought close. Each head comes with a small magnet, and by attaching it to a stand or the back of the MG's neck with double-sided tape, you can switch the LED on remotely.

1. Hyaku-Shiki Light-Up Head
This is the same Hyaku-Shiki head included in set No. 3, provided here as a duplicate — and the light-up effect is still one of the better ones among dual-eye types.

2. Gouf Light-Up Head
Just like the Gouf Custom, the sculpt feels slightly stretched vertically compared to the original. The mono-eye has a larger exposed area, so the light-up effect looks great. That said, the power cables are still made from a single solid plastic part — same issue as the Zaku II — which is a bit of a letdown. Swapping them out for the original parts would probably make it perfect though.

3. RX-78 Gundam Casval Custom Light-Up Head
It's the same structure as the previously released Gundam light-up head, just with a different molded color, so the light-up effect is about average. The dark area around the eyes still needs to be handled with paint or stickers to really look right.
