This is the Dengeki Hobby 2010.1 special bonus 1/48 Unicorn Head Display Base, which had been generating buzz even before it was released. First off, the head itself is really impressive — it's a fairly large 1/48 scale, and it can transform between Unicorn Mode and Destroy Mode. It's not quite as gimmick-packed as the PG, but the head transformation that we saw on the MG is reproduced here in a nice, roomy, and satisfying way.

Naturally, this kit is designed to pair perfectly with the HGUC Unicorn Gundam (Unicorn Mode and Destroy Mode) released around the same time. The overall kit quality is on par with Bandai's own products — there's absolutely no sense of it feeling out of place.

Since the parts are large and well-divided, it also seems like a great subject for beginners to practice painting on. All in all, it's a special bonus with a lot going for it, and if you're building the HGUC Unicorn Gundam, this is a pretty tempting item to have alongside it. :-)
