The style is similar, but the overall composition, detail, and color are quite different.
In terms of sheer quality, the MS Hanger with its pre-applied weathering is clearly the better one.

This is the White Base MS Hanger that came as a bonus supplement with the September 2010 issue of Dengeki Hobby. It's literally a recreation of the hanger used to dock the MSes inside the White Base, and while it's similar to the MS Hanger released as an Asia event exclusive back in the day, it's also quite different in many ways. The event hanger was a semi-assembled, paint-ready accessory kit, whereas this White Base MS Hanger is a more simplified version. The overall molding is simpler, and the sculpt and gimmicks are more basic too.

The hanger itself can be adjusted about 20 degrees, and thankfully the hinges and pistons hold their position well, so it stays firmly locked at whatever angle you set it. Pretty impressive considering it's just plain plastic friction with no polycaps.

Given the timing of its release and the whole 30th anniversary significance, it feels like it's meant to be treated as a set with the RG Gundam.. but compared to the small and intricate RG, the hanger itself is just too simple, so they feel a bit mismatched. It's still a fun little item to mess around with, though..

Either way, this kit is noteworthy just for the fact that something like this got released as a magazine supplement. The quality is lower than the old Asia event hanger, but it's easier to get your hands on (though knowing how magazines work, it'll probably become rare over time..) — so it's got its own charm as a simple yet fun little item. :-)
