The fourth kit in the Gundam 08th MS Team 1/144 lineup is the Zaku II. There was a previous release of the Zaku II J-type bundled together with the Ground-type Gundam, but this kit adds some new parts so you can build either the F-type or the J-type.

Coming as the F-type, the leg verniers, forearm parts, and the shape and color of the spike armor have all been changed. On the weapons side, a Heat Hawk — which wasn't included in the J-type kit — has been newly added. Everything else about the basic build is the same as the Ground-type Gundam bundle set. Joint strength is decent enough, but the articulation is pretty frustrating, so it's still a Zaku that leaves a lot to be desired in terms of posing and proportions.

Anyway, the significance of this kit is that the Zaku II got a standalone release with the F-type option added in — but while the design looks great, it's just too stiff to work with, so it's hard to give this old-kit a strong recommendation. :-)
