The fifth 08th MS Team 1/144 kit is the Gouf Custom. First off, the proportions and overall look are surprisingly good — almost on par with the HGUC. Joint strength is solid too, so the build feels structurally stable.

That said, while elbow and knee articulation are decent enough, the hip joints barely move at all due to the unique skirt structure — and that's a pretty critical flaw. On top of that, the feet don't grip the ground well, making it a real pain to get poses to hold.

Even so, the signature Gatling shield and heat rod are nicely reproduced, and once you get a pose set up, it somehow looks pretty cool. Great visuals, but then you actually handle it and feel let down, then you get a pose going and it looks awesome again... it's a bit of a back-and-forth kit. ^^;

Anyway, as an older kit it's got plenty going for it in terms of looks and style, and at roughly half the price of the HGUC Gouf Custom, the value for money alone makes it worth recommending. :-)
