First off, just looking at the visuals, it's got clean proportions that honestly don't look all that different from the HGUC GM Command Colony Type released in 2004. The design has a pretty simple color layout, which probably helps — the straight build comes out looking really sharp.

On the other hand, the joints definitely show their age in terms of articulation, and the leg articulation in particular feels pretty stiff. Oddly enough though, the ankles and wrists are almost too flexible. Either way, with the lower body being so restricted, the range of poses you can pull off is pretty limited. That said, the kit is small and light, so the joint strength feels solid enough.

Overall build quality is obviously better on the HGUC side, but considering the SD-level price tag of ¥500, the value here is pretty impressive. It snaps together cleanly and neatly, so even building it now, this old kit is still a fun little build. :-)
