This is the 1/144 W-Gundam Zero Custom (a.k.a. "Wing Zero Custom") released as part of the old Gundam W Endless Waltz series. The design got a major overhaul with Katoki's refinement, and true to a kit from the late 20th century, the proportions are a huge step up in sophistication compared to the earlier Gundam W series kits.

Articulation has also improved over the previous generation — the knees can bend fully, and joint strength is solid overall. That said, the knee joints are a touch loose and the wrist joints are a bit weak, so the balance of joint strength leaves a little to be desired. Still, the good articulation makes posing easy, and despite those big wings, it can hold poses just fine without a stand.

This series carries the "Fighting Action" label, and uniquely includes an extra dynamically bent torso piece, which makes poses like the Twin Buster Rifle combined-fire stance look more natural. There's also an atmospheric re-entry mode where the wings wrap around the body, though the lack of articulation range makes it a bit tricky to get the angles just right.

Either way, this kit clearly feels like a step up from the older releases — it sits somewhere between the HGUC line and the old-school kits. Since it's been released as an RG but not yet as an HGUC, this old kit still has some real purchase value. :-)
