This is the old-style 1/144 Gundam D-Hell Custom from the Gundam W Endless Waltz series. It's an upgraded unit featuring the large Active Cloak, and just like its predecessors, the body proportions are nicely sculpted to an HGUC-level of refinement.

Articulation and joint strength are pretty solid, but the large Active Cloak causes a lot of interference — the shoulder armor tends to pop off easily, and the wrist connection isn't very secure, making it a bit tricky to hold weapons steadily. The Active Cloak isn't articulated, but it is detachable and can be fixed at three different angles, and the fully folded form is well-realized too.

The real appeal of this kit lies in its sleek design and the dynamic posing you can pull off with that big Active Cloak — it's honestly the most striking of the series when it comes to sheer pose impact. Like the 1/144 Wing Gundam Zero Custom, it also comes with an extra upper body part twisted to the side for even more dramatic poses, though the effect isn't quite as noticeable as I'd hoped, which is a bit of a shame.

Anyway, the big wings can get in the way at times, but that's also what makes this kit so visually impressive when posed. Since there's still no HGUC version out there, this old-style HG kit is definitely still worth picking up even now. :-)
