This is the 1/100 Gundam D-Hell Custom released as part of the old Gundam W Endless Waltz series. It's a kit with a real wow factor thanks to those massive Active Cloak mantle wings — once you finish building it, the sheer volume is pretty impressive.

You might worry whether the body can hold up under wings that big, but the joint strength balance is actually the best in the series, so it holds everything up nice and solid. The Active Cloak wings fold in two stages, letting you fully wrap the body or angle them in all sorts of positions, and the hinge joints are firm enough to lock in at whatever angle you set them. The one downside is that the articulated fingers feel a bit iffy when it comes to gripping the large Beam Scissors — that's a bit of a shame.

In terms of color separation, proportions, and joint strength and stability, this kit is genuinely satisfying — it honestly feels like the best-quality release among the Endless Waltz 1/100 lineup. The MG version that came out in 2011 is fantastic in its own right, but this kit has its own charm and seriously strong value for money (the MG is ¥4500, this one is ¥2000), so it's definitely worth recommending as an older kit. :-)
