This is the 1/1200 kit of the Salamis, the iconic Federation warship from the One Year War. It only comes molded in a single light blue color, so the straight build looks a bit washed out, but it still pulls off a decent sense of three-dimensional structure for a warship model.

All 6 main cannons can rotate and have adjustable elevation, and the detachable capsule on the underside is also recreated. On top of that, you get 3 same-scale GMs and 3 Balls as accessories — the sculpts themselves are pretty decent, though the Ball's arms are molded straight out horizontally, so they look like they'd need a little bit of work.

The Salamis was also released as an EX Model back in 2005, but that one was in 1/1700 scale, making it quite tiny — so the old 1/1200 Salamis actually ends up looking much bigger by comparison. When you factor in the ¥400 price tag, it feels even more impressive, and the value for money on this kit is really quite good.
