Straight build + waterslide decals

The second kit in the F91 lineup is the 1/100 Vigina Ghina. Personally, this one brings back some painful memories — about 20-odd years ago I spent a lot of time giving it a full silver paint job and had it proudly displayed in my cabinet, only for my little nephew to absolutely demolish it. (Found a leg on the sofa, the head in the bathroom, and the torso in the bedroom... T_T)

The previous G-Cannon release was surprisingly high quality, but the Vigina Ghina is a problematic kit in a lot of ways. The biggest issue is joint strength — the hip joints pop out easily during posing, which makes it really frustrating to work with. On top of that, the rear wings are loose and floppy, and the grip is so weak it can barely hold the rifle. Strangely enough, the neck joint is the complete opposite — way too stiff to turn. The overall joint balance is just all over the place.

It also relies heavily on stickers rather than color separation, so the straight build doesn't look great out of the box, and the silver molded color has a lot of swirl marks that give it a cheap, candy-toy kind of feel. Aside from the proportions, which felt fairly stylish for the time, it's hard to find much else to praise about this kit.

It's a shame, really — the Vigina Ghina is an important heroine's mobile suit in the show, but the kit quality just doesn't hold up compared to the G-Cannon. The only real significance here is that the Vigina Ghina got a plastic model release at all. Unless you're into painting and customizing, this is one old-school kit I can't really recommend. :-)
