This is the old-style 1/144 Gundam Rose from the G Gundam series. True to its Neo France origins, it has a slightly elegant design, with the cloak-style shield draped over the left shoulder being its most distinctive feature.

The cloak-style shield can be deployed forward and backward to expose the panel weapon inside known as the Rose Bits. Joint strength is also excellent, much like the Gundam Maxter — the hip joints hold firm, and the cloak shield's open gimmick locks into place solidly as well.

In terms of articulation, though, the fixed skirt armor severely limits the hip joint's range of motion, making leg poses feel pretty restrictive. That said, even if the variety of poses you can pull off isn't huge, the Rose Bits open-fire shot comes together quite nicely.

Setting aside the articulation, this kit holds up reasonably well in terms of quality among the old 1/144 G series — and since no HGFC or any other scale version has ever been released, it holds a special place as the one and only Gundam Rose plastic model kit ever made. :-)
