Following the MSV 1/144 Prototype Dom, a variation in the form of the Dom Tropical Test Type has arrived. Since only the head and backpack designs were changed, the basic characteristics are pretty much the same — but with the molded color switched to a desert scheme, it ends up feeling like quite a different kit.

The backpack redesign also changed the heat saber mounting from a horizontal layout to a vertical one, though the bazooka mounting feature carries over unchanged. It's also interesting how the head's power pipes now connect directly to the backpack — a neat little detail.

The joint characteristics are the same as the Prototype Dom as well. The arm and leg joint strength is solid, but the hip joints are oddly loose, causing the upper body to keep leaning to one side — same issue as before.
