Straight build + Waterslide decals

This is the MSV 1/100 Prototype Dom, and it shares the same base body as the 1/100 Dom Tropical Test Type — the only structural change is the backpack. That said, the molded colors are completely different, and by making good use of the wet decals, it achieves a colorful look that almost passes for a painted build, which does give it its own identity. The decals are noticeably larger than on other kits, but thankfully the wet decal quality is decent enough that applying them isn't too difficult.

Since the 1/100 Dom Tropical Test Type's base body wasn't all that great to begin with, this 1/100 Prototype Dom still suffers from the same loose hip joints and stiff articulation. On the plus side, the exterior colors are bold and colorful, so it does look a bit better visually.

With the backpack swap from the Dom Tropical Test Type, the heat saber is now mounted horizontally instead of vertically. The problem is that the mounting point is pretty flimsy, so the heat saber just rattles around — honestly makes you not even want to bother mounting it. The vertical mounting on the Dom Tropical Test Type was actually much more secure by comparison.

Still, it's a fairly large 1/100 scale Dom, so with some joint modifications it could look really great — but as a straight-build kit, it's not one I'd really recommend. It's an MSV kit that's a bit hard to get excited about as-is. :-)
