Following the Black Tri-Stars Zaku, Johnny Ridden's Zaku has also been released as a 1/60 MSV kit. The basic frame is completely identical to the Black Tri-Stars unit, with the molded color changed to Johnny Ridden's signature crimson and the addition of those chunky leg armor pieces. On top of that, the spike armor's horns are larger, and the round sections on the sides of the backpack along with the elbow joints have been swapped out for bigger parts — all the little details that make Johnny Ridden's unit distinctive are faithfully reproduced here.
Since the base body is built on the 1/60 Black Tri-Stars kit, all the structural characteristics are identical (see that review). Thanks to the significantly improved joint strength and proportions compared to the older 1/60 Zaku, this kit also delivers outstanding value for money and is a pretty high-quality old-kit in its own right. That said, the molded colors do look a little cheap compared to more recent kits, so in terms of straight build visuals, the Black Tri-Stars version does come out looking a bit better.
Either way, alongside the 1/60 Black Tri-Stars Zaku, this is a kit I'd happily recommend as a high-quality MSV kit — it's a great old-kit that'll have you marveling at the fact that something this good existed over 30 years ago. :-)
