Following the MSV 1/144 GM Cannon, the GM Sniper has arrived. At first glance it might look like a variation, but it's actually a completely different design from head to toe. In 2012 an HGUC version of the GM Sniper II — which appeared in 0080 — was released, but this kit remains the only one of the original GM Sniper Custom.

First off, it sports a goggle-type head befitting its sniper role, and the body has a design that looks like additional armor has been layered on in various places. Add in the scoped sniper rifle, and it really sells the visual of a dedicated sniper MS.

The design is completely different from the GM Cannon, but structurally they're practically identical — the parts layout and joint structure are almost the same, and even the molded colors match. Overall articulation is just your typical old-kit level, and joint strength isn't particularly great either. The GM Sniper Custom in particular has an especially loose rotation joint above the elbow, which keeps throwing the proportions off. T_T

Anyway, as a unique unit that you can only find in the MSV lineup, it holds a lot of significance. With a good paint job it can hold its own against more modern kits, so even now I'd say it's an MSV worth recommending for its looks. :-)
