The sixth kit in the old 1/144 Char's Counterattack lineup is the Geara Doga. The molded color looks somewhat similar to the 1/144 Hi-Zack at first glance, but the two-tone green plastic with that unusually shiny finish gives it a very candy-toy kind of vibe.
There's no system injection runner either, so you only get two molded colors, and the details feel pretty chunky overall — making this one of the weakest-looking kits in the Char's Counterattack lineup visually. The articulation is about average, but the feet don't grip the ground well, which makes poses look unnatural. In a lot of ways, this kit really shows its age.
That said, it does have the most generous weapons loadout of the bunch, and the joint strength is solid — those are definite plusses. On the flip side, the grip on the articulated fingers is still terrible, so it's really hard to keep the rifle in hand. I ended up having no choice but to use double-sided tape to secure the rifle to the palm.
The wide variety of weapons does let you recreate all sorts of scenes, which is a nice point in its favor — but in terms of joint design, proportions, and molded color, this is easily the most old-school feeling kit in the Char's Counterattack lineup. The only thing it has over the HGUC Geara Doga is the lower price, so there's really no reason to recommend it at this point. :-)
