As the second entry in the Silhouette Formula side-story series for Gundam F91, we got the 1/100 Gundam RXF91 — one of the main units of the series. Just like the 1/100 F91, it uses system insert runners to handle the color separation for the major parts all in one shot. On top of that, the massive sticker & seal combo that's become a hallmark of the Silhouette Formula series gives the finished model a pretty flashy look.

Overall, the joint strength and articulation are solid enough, and there are various open gimmicks built into the backpack, legs, and shoulders. You can even deploy the Vesbar on the back just like on the F91, and there are plenty of little touches that show they put some real thought into it.

That said, the overall build quality feels just a notch below the 1/100 F91. They clearly tried to make it look flashy in a lot of ways, but somehow it just doesn't have that same clean, polished feel.

Anyway, it's definitely lacking that crisp, refined quality you'd expect from a modern kit, but if you're into the design, it's a perfectly enjoyable old-school kit. :-) [ Updated at 2017.10.12]
