The Gun EZ is the second entry in the 1/144 V Gundam series, and it carries over all the same series hallmarks from the previous kit — polycap frame, snap-fit runner assembly, clear runners, and background card.

This shared platform definitely helps with production efficiency, and from a builder's perspective there's something nice about having a consistent, unified setup across kits. On the flip side though, aside from the exterior design, there isn't a whole lot that sets them apart from each other — so it's a bit of a double-edged sword.

One thing that's still a bit of a letdown is how easily the shoulder joints pop out — that's just a quirk of the shared frame. That said, unlike the previous 1/144 V Gundam, the shield stays on nice and securely here, so at least there's that.

By the way, the background card included with the 1/144 Gun EZ connects side-by-side with the one from the 1/144 V Gundam, forming a continuous forest-themed panorama across four cards total.

All in all, the kit still feels like great value thanks to a bunch of clever ideas and a generous accessory lineup. If you're a fan of the V Gundam series and dig the Gun EZ's design, this old-school kit is definitely worth a fun build. :-)
