Straight build + Stickers

The Rig Shokew is the 13th kit in the old 1/144 V Gundam series. It's got a name that's a bit of a mouthful, and the body is molded entirely in a single yellow color with minimal seals used, so the straight build looks a little plain, to be honest.

Design-wise, it's a Zanscare Empire mobile suit, but the body silhouette looks more like a Federation unit, which makes it a bit confusing to place. It feels like the same old pattern repeating itself — Zanscare Empire kits, being the villain faction, tend to get the short end of the stick when it comes to color separation.

The kit stays true to the series concept, carrying over the polycap frame, clear runners, and background card. The only exception is the skirt-fixing polycap for the lower body, which wasn't reused here. The background card features a newly drawn space setting.

Interestingly, this kit has noticeably better joint strength compared to its predecessors. The joints hold well, but the shoulder range of motion is unusually limited, which makes posing a bit of a hassle.

The Rig Shokew is a pretty obscure unit that only die-hard Gundam fans would recognize, so it's at least noteworthy that it got a 1/144 release at all. Outside of having surprisingly solid joints for an old kit, there isn't much else to recommend here. :-)
