The sixth kit in the old V-series HG lineup is the V2 Assault Gundam. It's an expanded version of the existing 1/100 V2 Gundam with an Assault armament runner added, and the yellow armor unique to the Assault version comes with gold plated parts applied.

The base body is carried straight over from the V2, so both the articulation and joint strength feel improved compared to the V Gundam. The various Assault weapons added all over the body definitely give it more volume and presence. That said, it does feel a bit more cramped in terms of posing and proportions, so it's slightly less fun to handle.

The Mega Beam Rifle unique to the Assault version comes with various transformation gimmicks that let you recreate all of its in-setting configurations, and it can be additionally secured to the forearm for a solid grip — it's well done.

The separation and transformation feature of the Assault Pack is faithfully reproduced as well, though there's still only one V2 Core Fighter included, so you can't display the Top Fighter and Bottom Fighter at the same time.

Either way, this kit is noteworthy for pulling off the V2's expansion pack pretty solidly, but the cramped proportions do make it feel even more old-kit-ish than before. :-)
