If you add the parts from the previous 1/100 V2 Assault Gundam kit, you can also build the V2 Assault Buster Gundam.

The last HG kit in the old V series is the V2 Buster Gundam. Like the V2 Assault Gundam, it's an expansion kit based on the V2 Gundam, with additional runners included for the Buster configuration.
Since the base body is carried over directly from the V2, it offers solid articulation, stable joint strength, and the transformation gimmick. That said, with the Buster Pack attached, the V2 Core Fighter becomes too bulky to combine with the Top Limb and Bottom Limb to form the Top Fighter and Bottom Fighter.
One thing to note is that unlike the V2 Assault, the V2 Buster's pack extends so far back that it creates a center-of-gravity issue — you'll need to shift the legs slightly backward to keep it from tipping over. The armor added to the sides of the calves also tends to fall off pretty easily. Aside from those points, it's a decent enough kit overall.
You can also combine the V2 Buster Gundam with the V2 Assault Pack to configure it as the V2 Assault Buster Gundam, but doing so makes it so bulky that the proportions don't really look great. Guess old kits are old kits.
This kit is significant in that all of V2's equipment options have been released as 1/100 scale plastic model kits. The styling is a bit dated, but for what it is, it's a fun old-school kit with a generous amount of content for the price and decent overall quality. :-)
