The second kit in the old 1/144 Gundam W series is the Shenlong Gundam. It's got a Chinese-inspired design with a very main-character-esque color scheme. The Shenlong Gundam's signature Dragon Hang deployment gimmick is well reproduced, and the arm holds its position reasonably well once extended.

The articulation itself is pretty average — a step down from the 1/144 Wing Gundam — but the joint strength is noticeably better, giving it a much more stable feel. The Beam Glaive is easy to hold with both hands and stays in place nicely, making this a very user-friendly kit to pose and handle.

All in all, it's a clear step up in quality over its predecessor, the 1/144 Wing Gundam. Since there's no HGAC version out there, this old kit is an easy recommendation for anyone looking to build a 1/144 scale Shenlong Gundam. :-)
[ Updated at 2018.2.16 ]

The 1/144 Gundam W series was repackaged and released as the WF series in July 2000. The kit itself is the same as before, but a small character figure was added, bumping the price up by ¥100. The box art and manual were also slightly revised to reflect this, and a color guide for painting the figure was included. Since both the regular 1/144 W series and the WF series are still mixed together on the secondhand market, be sure to check the WF version review below for details on the figure and what's included.
