The third kit in the old Gundam W 1/144 series is Gundam Deathscythe. Overall, the joint strength is decent enough — better than the loose 1/144 Wing Gundam, but the stability is a bit awkward, falling slightly short of the previous 1/144 Shenlong Gundam.

For some reason, the neck joint is particularly loose, making it hard to keep the head upright — like a baby that can't hold its own head up — and the head antenna keeps falling off. As for articulation, the front skirt limits the hip joint's range of motion, making it hard to spread the legs wide, which in turn makes dynamic poses look a bit flat.

Deathscythe's signature beam scythe has an articulated blade section, and a folded version is also included that can be stored in the rear skirt. The Buster Shield on the left arm can be deployed, and the blade part can be attached separately — all nicely implemented.

So yeah, the joint strength is a bit iffy and the articulation is below average, but thanks to the beam scythe, the poses still look pretty decent. It's an old kit with questionable build quality, but at the very least it's better than the 1/144 Wing Gundam — and I guess that's something. :-)
[ Updated at 2018.2.19 ]

The 1/144 Gundam W series was repackaged and released as the WF series in July 2000. The kit itself is the same as before, but a small character figure was added, bumping the price up by ¥100. The box art and manual were also slightly revised accordingly, and a color guide for painting the figure was added. Since both the regular 1/144 W series and the WF series are still mixed together on the secondhand market, please refer to the WF version review below for details on the figure and included contents.
