The 9th kit in the old 1/144 Gundam W series is the Wing Gundam Zero. Unlike the Wing Gundam which had weak joint strength, this one boasts solid joints, and the articulation is above average too. It holds a pose just fine even when holding the large Twin Buster Rifle. The proportions are a bit of a letdown though — the shoulders are way too big, so the overall body balance doesn't look great.

The transformation process is similar to the Wing Gundam, but the wings have to be detached and spread out rather than being articulated — and the connection there is a little loose. The leg transformation is more complex than the Wing Gundam's, but it does a decent job of faithfully recreating the transformation gimmick from the source material.

Overall it's a step up in quality from the Wing Gundam, but the proportions hold it back. Since the HGAC version came out in 2014, this old kit is pretty hard to recommend at this point. :-)

The 1/144 Gundam W series was repackaged and released as the WF Series in July 2000. The kit itself is the same as before, but a small character figure was added, bumping the price up by ¥100. The box art and manual were slightly revised accordingly, and a color guide for painting the figure was also added.
