This is the old-release 1/100 Gundam Leopard from the Gundam X series. True to its reputation as the all-out fire pose machine, all the various open gimmicks are faithfully reproduced. The articulation is nothing special, but the flashy arsenal makes posing a lot of fun.

On top of that, as befitting a 1/100, the internal weapon parts have proper color separation, making the all-out fire pose even more colorful, and the beam knife blade is included as a separate beam parts piece — the visuals are impressive all around. The inner arm gatling also has a slide cover that fills in the gap when it's stowed on the backpack, which gives it a definite upgrade feel over the 1/144. And on top of all that, a separate missile pod with an open gimmick has been newly added to the side of the left leg.

In terms of joint strength, it doesn't feel as unbalanced as some of the earlier kits in the line, though a few joints do feel a bit loose. That said, the flashy poses more than make up for it, so it's not really a big deal.

Anyway, as the original Gundam Leopard that never got an MG release, this is personally my favorite kit out of the 1/100 X series. If you want to enjoy that spectacular all-out fire pose at a bargain price of ¥1500, this old-release kit is definitely worth a look. :-)
