This kit is the SD Rhinoceros Gundam, released as part of the SD Sengokuden Tenka Touitsu-hen series. Following SD Lion Gundam and Dragon Gundam, this is the next Shasou-Oh kit in the lineup — and this time around, the concept is combining the Purple Rhinoceros with the base body to form Rhinoceros Gundam.

To combine the Purple Rhinoceros with the base body, you need to detach the legs, fold the horn, and reattach everything. There's also a section where parts are assembled while still on the runner. The Shasou-Oh series is well known for including one special gimmick part per kit, and Rhinoceros Gundam comes with glow-in-the-dark horns. They're not particularly noticeable under normal lighting, but shine some light on them for a while, turn the lights off, and the horn sections glow in the dark — pretty cool.

For its signature battle mode, you can recreate the "Rhinoceros King Formation" by slotting the Holyoku Shield onto the chest, mounting the rhinoceros forelegs onto the arms, and deploying the horns on the feet. That said, the same old issue from previous Shasou-Oh kits is still here — the neck can't rotate because of the rhinoceros mask going over the head.

It's a fun kit thanks to those neat glow-in-the-dark parts, and personally, it feels like the best of the Shasou-Oh kits so far. :-)
