This kit is the SD Gouka Shodai Gundam Daishogun, released under the large-scale SD concept. Just like the previously released SD Gouka Gundam Daishogun, it's essentially the original Shodai Gundam Daishogun blown up to about twice the size, and true to the "Gouka" (luxury) title, it comes loaded with upgraded color separation and gimmicks.

Most notably, wings and caterpillar parts for recreating the En Hōō and Dai Hōō — which weren't included in the original SD-sized kit — have been added, letting you build a really impressively large phoenix. On top of that, a new multi-joint articulation gimmick for the S Armor has been added, the Shishiojin Shield now features two missile-launching gimmicks, and there's even a function to switch to Shin'an Mode eyes by operating a lever on the back of the head.

The most eye-catching part of the Gouka version is the large gold-plated Hachiho no Kōrin — it's been upgraded to look really three-dimensional and flashy, combining double-sided seals with engraved characters and a convex soft clear-green part. And when you insert the scabbard into the rotating section and pull it out quickly, the gear gimmick sends the ring spinning — it whips around just like launching a Beyblade, which is super satisfying.

All in all, this is a fun kit to build thanks to its impressive size and various upgraded features, and it's one I'd definitely recommend to anyone who's into large-scale SD kits. :-)
