This kit is Master Daishogun, released as part of the New SD Sengokuden Choukidoutaishogun arc. True to its name, it's based on Master Gundam from G Gundam, and it faithfully recreates that distinctive dark color scheme and the oversized cape.
Uniquely, in addition to the main body, no fewer than 3 sub-characters are included — Heavens, which can transform into a flight mode; Grand, which transforms into a rhinoceros form; and the skull-shaped Volta. Combine all 3 and you can build the Fuunsaiki, and some of the leftover parts can also be attached to the main body to form Super Mode.
The main body's cape is a two-stage articulated design, so you can also recreate a cloaked form that wraps around the body. On top of that, spread the head antenna, rotate the face inside the helmet 180 degrees, and attach the plated parts from the sub-characters to get an even more spectacular Super Mode. You can then have Super Mode ride the Fuunsaiki, which makes for a seriously impressive visual.
As you'd expect from a 1000-yen SD Gundam kit, this one packs in a ton of variety and playability. Between the 3 sub-characters, the Fuunsaiki combination, Super Mode, and the riding feature, it's bursting with gimmicks — and the parts all fit together solidly too. In terms of value for money, this might just be the best bang for your buck in the entire SD Gundam lineup. :-)
