--- SD Sangokuden General Notes -----------------
The SD Sangokuden lineup was released between 2007 and 2010, and all the kits share a consistent format and the same basic characteristics. The head and waist rotate, and the arms and legs use ball joints, giving them more flexible articulation than older SD kits. The ball joints do tend to pop out during posing, but overall joint strength is pretty decent.

Each kit has a stamp on the bottom of the feet with the Three Kingdoms character's name carved in Chinese characters, and slide molds are used on the arms and some other parts for a cleaner finish. Removing the outer armor to get a light armor type is similar to earlier kits, and depending on the kit, some pretty large weapons are included too. On top of that, system injection runners and color separation across four to five or more colors are used, so even with a small number of seals the straight build looks great right out of the box. All in all, this is a series that delivers a consistently solid level of quality, and it's safe to say it was a hit that did a lot to bring SD kits to a wider audience.
------------------------------------------------------

This kit is the third release in the Sangokuden series — SD Kanu Gundam, based on the ZZ Gundam. He's the last of the three brothers from the Three Kingdoms to get a kit. Kanu is famous for his massive Green Dragon Crescent Blade, and this kit comes with a similar weapon called the Guiya Glaive. The left hand, just like SD Zhangfei Gundam, includes an open flat hand.

Maybe it's because the weapon is so big, but you can pull off more dynamic poses with this one than with the other kits. As a special gimmick, the top part of the helmet can be attached in two different positions, and everything else stays true to the series concept. Either way, it's got that clean, polished quality you'd expect from the Sangokuden series. If you're a Sangokuden fan, the trio of Yubi, Kanu, and Zhangfei are pretty much must-haves. :-)
