--- SD Sangokuden common notes -----------------
The SD Sangokuden lineup was released between 2007 and 2010, and all kits share a standardized format with consistent characteristics. The head and waist rotate as a baseline, and the arms and legs use ball joints, giving them more flexible articulation compared to older SD kits. The ball joints do tend to pop out during posing, but overall joint strength is pretty solid.
Each kit has a stamp on the sole of the foot with the Three Kingdoms character's name engraved in kanji, and slide molds are used on the arms and certain parts for a cleaner finish. Removing the outer armor to reveal a light armor type is similar to previous kits, and depending on the kit, some fairly large weapons are included. System injection runners and color separation across 4–5 or more colors are also applied, so even with a small number of seals, the straight build looks great right out of the box. Overall, this is a series that consistently delivers a solid level of quality, and it's safe to say it was a hit that did a lot to bring SD kits to a wider audience.
------------------------------------------------------
This kit is the 19th release in the Sangokuden series — the SD Choukou Zaku III — and as the name suggests, it's based on the Zaku III. Color-wise, it has the silhouette of Mashymre's custom Zaku III.
The included weapon is the Lang-Ya Shuang Zhong Ji, whose blades can be detached for use as two separate Acrobatic Swords. Both shoulder armors can be removed and held in the hands, and the right shoulder armor can be fitted with 2 Acrobatic Swords. Structurally, parts from the SD Sima Yi Sazabi runner are reused for the torso, legs, and the rear helmet piece, which means 3 leftover parts are left over as a result.
Much like the SD Zhou Yu Döven Wolf, this kit reuses parts from an existing kit, but it's done so cleverly that you'd hardly notice — it feels like a well-crafted variation kit. :-)
