--- BB Senshi Sangokuden Gaiden Buyuu Gekitouroku Gunpla General Notes -----------------
Sangokuden Gaiden Buyuu Gekitoukou is a side story to SD Sangokuden, featuring 12 characters who don't appear in the main series, each getting their own episode as the protagonist. A total of 12 kits were released, all of them variation kits based on existing kits with 1–2 new runners added. Most of them use kits from the '90s through 2003 as their base, so compared to the SD Sangokuden kits, they tend to be smaller and feel a bit lower in quality. The biggest standout feature of this series seems to be that each character has their own unique finishing move.

This kit is the 2nd release in the Sangokuden Gaiden Buyuu Gekitoukou series — SD Shuutai Gundam — and is based on the SD Xinchanghuan released in 2003. The molded colors have been changed to a deep navy blue and gray for a heavier look, and while the main body stays the same, the helmet design has been changed and shoulder armor along with weapon accessories have been added.

The two short-type Zhuren Spears, each with a new blade added, can be combined into a long type, and attaching the shoulder ornament to a short-type Zhuren Spear turns it into the Zhuren Cross Steel Spear. The lore says that throwing the full weight of your body into an attack with this Zhuren Cross Steel Spear activates the finishing move known as the Crosscut Strike. On top of that, silver seals are included to give the effect of chipped armor, and just like the Xinchanghuan, you can build an Armor Display Stand in two different configurations.

The colorful look of the Xinchanghuan has been swapped out for something much more warrior-like with the new color scheme and added weapons. Maybe because it reuses the Maruden series parts, but it feels like a bigger and better-quality kit compared to the previous Youfeng Gundam. :-)
