Sangokuden Gaiden Buyuu Gekitourok is a side story to SD Sangokuden, featuring 12 characters who don't appear in the main series — each one getting their own episode as the protagonist. A total of 12 plastic model kits were released, and all of them are variation kits based on existing kits with one or two new runners added. Most use kits from the '90s through 2003 as their base, so compared to the SD Sangokuden kits they tend to be smaller and feel a bit lower in quality. The biggest highlight of this series seems to be that each character has their own unique finishing move.

This kit is the 5th release in the Sangokuden Gaiden Buyuu Gekitourok series — SD Teihou Gundam — and is based on the SD Gundam GP04 released in 2000. Unlike the previous entries which used Musha Gundam as their base, this one uses an original SD Gundam instead. The molded colors of the main body are largely unchanged, with only the helmet, chest and shoulder armor, and weapon parts added.

A large new weapon called the Sancian Liezhang has been added, and there's a fun little feature where you can stick a sound effect seal reading "Zwhoosh~" onto it. The finishing move is set up as the "Liepa Sancian Strike," where you attack by spinning the Sancian Liezhang, and as a bonus, an extra eye seal with a different design is also included.

Since it's based on an older-style SD Gundam, the small size and somewhat plain feel are pretty much unavoidable.
