Sangokuden Gaiden Buyuu Gekitourok is a side story to SD Sangokuden, featuring 12 characters who don't appear in the main series — each one getting their own episode as the protagonist. A total of 12 plastic model kits were released, and every single one is a variation kit based on an existing kit with one or two new runners added. Most of them use kits from the '90s through 2003 as their base, so compared to the SD Sangokuden kits they tend to be smaller and feel a bit lower in quality overall. The biggest standout feature of this series seems to be that each character has their own unique special move.

This kit is the 7th release in the Sangokuden Gaiden Buyuu Gekitourok series — SD Bashoku Gundam — and it's based on the SD Mushikan released in 2003. The body's molded colors have been changed to deep black and blue, and a helmet, shoulder armor, and a large weapon parts have been added.

You can slot a large scabbard-style blade onto the existing Ittoushou sword to form the Kyosanhangetsu-dou, and the character's special move "Hangetsu Bakugekijin" involves using the Kyosanhangetsu-dou for both offense and defense simultaneously. The Kyosanhangetsu-dou can also be mounted on the back, and just like Mushikan, the gimmick of flipping the structure on top of the head backward to swap out the eyes carries over here as well.
