This lineup was newly launched alongside the 2010 anime "SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors," and follows its own independent numbering system separate from the existing BB Senshi line. Basically, a good number of the kits are repackaged versions of the existing BB Senshi Sangokuden kits, while some were released as original kits.

The repackaged kits come with slight molded color changes along with added weapons and armaments, though some have no additional parts at all. On top of that, extra eye seals have been included. So honestly, a lot of these kits feel pretty much like straight-up color variants. Another notable feature is that "Shin" has been added to the front of each kit's name, and the base price has gone up slightly to ¥600.

This kit is the SD Shin Gouka Shouretsutei Ryuusou Ryubi Gundam, released as No. 45 in the SD Gundam Sangokuden BBW series. It's essentially the previously released SD Shin Gouka Youjou Ryubi Gundamwith the Shouretsutei armor added on. The rotating eye gimmick and articulated fingers are carried over as-is, and the excellent articulation and solid joint strength are still there too. So for this review, you'll mainly want to focus on the newly added armor pieces.

The Shouretsutei parts consist of two dragon shoulder pieces, a large set of wings, and body armor. Unlike the SD Shin Shouretsusei Youjou Ryubi Gundam, the Shouretsutei parts here don't have any chrome plating — they're just molded in a plain yellowish color, which is a bit of a shame. (Though if everything had been chrome-plated, the price would've shot up by ¥1000 or more.) That said, even without the chrome finish, this kit comes out looking much more imposing and bulked-up than the Gouka Youjou Ryubi Gundam, so if you're a fan of this kind of deluxe SD style, it's definitely a kit worth enjoying — quality-wise, it should leave you pretty satisfied. :-)
