--- SD Gundam World Heroes — General Notes -----------------
This is a TV anime produced as a follow-up to the 2021 Sangoku Soketsuden, and just like the title "World Heroes" suggests, it draws on heroes from various eras as its motif. The plastic model line follows the same concept as Sangoku Soketsuden, and even reuses the same shared frame runners from that series. Everything else — the way the parts are structured, even the feel of the plastic — is identical, so it's really not much of a stretch to just call these the same Sangoku Soketsuden series kits rather than a true successor line.
Like the Sangoku Soketsuden kits, these are made at Bandai's Chinese factory rather than the Shizuoka plant, and the plastic still feels hard and stiff to assemble. On the flip side, the intricate molding and color separation give you a great-looking straight build right out of the box, and the price feels pretty reasonable for what you get.
------------------------------------------------------
This kit is SD Arsene Gundam X, released as No. 10 in the SD Gundam World Heroes line. In Japan "Arsene" is written as アルセーヌ/アルセヌ, but the Korean release name is 아르센. As the name suggests, it's a kit based on the concept of Arsène Lupin combined with Gundam X.
It blends Gundam X's signature elements — most notably the Luna Reflector unit — with a cape and Lupin's trademark single-lens glasses, and the mix works pretty well. The visuals came out looking quite nice, and the basic articulation and joint structure are similar to previous kits. For weapons, you get four different types that can be mounted on the barrel, and you can even deploy the Luna Reflector unit and attach it there too. Most of the weapons can be stored inside the cape or on the rear skirt.
It's a fairly standard kit in terms of quality, but each entry in this series has its own distinct personality — and that's really what makes it special. If the style appeals to you, it seems like a fun, easy kit to enjoy. :-)
