-- Series Overview ---------------------------------
The Gundam SEED Destiny 1/144 No Grade series is a follow-up to the original SEED 1/144 line, with a total of 14 kits released between 2004 and 2005, priced in the ¥300–¥600 entry-level range. The basic layout is similar to the SEED 1/144 series, but you can feel a step up in detail, and they use an evolved dumbbell-shaped ball-joint polycap. Each joint moves on both ends, so articulation has improved — but since the elbows and knees are still fixed, the range of poses you can pull off remains limited.

That said, the proportions are solid and comparable to HG, and while color separation is limited, the molded colors look pretty decent. Each kit also reproduces its own unique transformation or key gimmicks. The parts count is more complex than the SEED 1/144 kits, pushing the average price up to ¥500, but overall quality has gone up along with it. True to the No Grade label, these are great entry-level kits for casual building or painting practice at a relatively affordable price.

<Individual Kit Notes>

This kit is the last release in the series — the 1/144 Strike Freedom Gundam. The basic layout feels similar to the SEED 1/144 Freedom Gundam, but there are a few upgrades worth noting. For one, the wings rotate and spread out — it's a bit rough, but the deployed look is reasonably well reproduced, and there's even a foot stand included for the spread-wing pose.

There's also a gimmick for swinging the side rail guns to the back — it's not a rotating mechanism, but rather a detach-and-reattach system. Once the rail guns are swung back, you can also peg the rifles to the sides just like in the show.

All in all, this is a No Grade kit with better functionality than you might expect, and if you're a Strike Freedom fan, it's definitely worth picking up for a fun, casual build. :-)
