-- Series Overview ---------------------------------
The Gundam SEED 1/144 No Grade series ran from 2002 to 2004, with a total of 22 kits released, priced between 300 and 600 yen — making them entry-level Gunpla. They use system injection to achieve up to 5-color color separation, but due to simplified parts construction, the elbows and knees are fixed in place. Six ball-type polycaps handle the remaining joints, though there aren't really that many poses you can pull off. On the flip side, with fewer moving parts, joint strength is rarely an issue.

Given when these came out, the detail is a bit soft as you'd expect from No Grade kits, but the proportions are on par with HG. The simple parts count means you can usually get one built in about 10 minutes, and considering the price, the build experience and overall look are pretty decent. These are great starter Gunpla for anyone who just wants a quick, affordable build or needs something to practice painting on — just don't go in with sky-high expectations.

<Individual Kit Notes>

This is kit No. 9 in the series — the 1/144 Launcher Strike Gundam. Like the previous Sword Strike Gundam, it's essentially the existing 1/144 Strike Gundam with a Launcher pack added, and comes with one extra runner molded in olive drab and a sticker sheet.

Even though it's No Grade, the Launcher pack's sub-arm is fully articulated, so you can recreate both the stowed position and a firing pose. Like the Sword pack, it can also be fitted onto the HG Strike Gundam. Unlike the No Grade Sword pack, which required trimming some parts for compatibility, the Launcher pack attaches to the HG straight out of the box with no modifications needed. Either way, since an HG Launcher Strike Gundam was never released — just like with the Sword — this No Grade kit has its own special place in the lineup. :-)
(For reference, the Launcher pack is also included in the HG Perfect Strike Gundam with all-new tooling.)
