Following the Exia, Celestial Being's second Gundam — the Dynames — has now been released in 1/100 scale. The HG Dynames was already an impressively high-quality kit, and the 1/100 Exia was fantastic too, so I had pretty high hopes for the 1/100 Dynames... and it absolutely delivered.
First off, the articulation is closer to MG level than a typical 1/100, just like the 1/100 Exia — and the shoulder up/down/forward/back movement is actually better than the 1/100 Exia. The legs folding 180 degrees goes without saying, and the overall joint strength is solid too. The color separation has improved over HG level overall, but the color combinations on the face and legs are so intricate that you'll still need quite a few stickers.
With the Dynames, going from FG to HG added the full shield, and now stepping up to 1/100, not only does the full shield return, but a pair of GN Beam Pistols and a storage folder have been added as well, making this a complete full-option release. The detail on the full shield is honestly MG-worthy, and despite being a structure that could easily feel loose, it locks in firmly with just the right amount of tension.
Since the 1/100 Gundam 00 series has MG-level molding and detail, once you do some panel lining it feels incredibly close to an MG in terms of that tight, intricate look. Just like the 1/100 Exia, think of it as an MG without an inner frame and you've pretty much nailed it. In some ways, the impressive full shield and all the extra options give it even more presence and style on display than the Exia.
One minor gripe though — in my case, the beam sabers that store in the butt verniers kept falling out. You can force them in and they'll stay, but still. Aside from that small issue, the satisfaction you get for the price is enormous. A real gem. ^^
