As expected, the 1/100 Cherudim Gundam has been released right on schedule.
The overall kit composition and concept are the same as the HG, and again,
the joints are much sturdier compared to the Season 1 kits.
The overall detail has been simplified as well, but the proportions seem even better.

For starters, Cherudim's signature bit shields and folding sniper rifle are
well reproduced, and the clear HUD unit and lens cover opening gimmick are
nicely done too. Overall it feels like a straight-up upscaled version of the HG Cherudim,
which also says a lot about how good the HG was. On the downside, the bit shield
connecting pins that were on the HG are gone in the 1/100, which really limits
the number of arrangements you can make when displaying them on the bit shield stand.
It's a bit odd that something the HG had got left out of the 1/100...

On the flip side, the HG's detachable folding rifle had a somewhat loose fit that
was a little annoying, but in the 1/100 it's been changed to a poseable folding
design that holds together really well. Then again, the bit shield attachment,
which was fine on the HG, feels a bit weak on the 1/100. Especially when attaching
the bit shields on the knees and rear, they don't sit flush and feel a little wobbly —
they even pop off during posing sometimes. It's not a huge deal, but it was a
slightly irritating point.

One feature unique to the 1/100 Cherudim is the inclusion of rainbow stickers
you can apply to the forehead lens and the rear solar furnace. They give off a
rainbow shimmer depending on the angle of reflection, and you can choose between
these or the regular stickers. They look really flashy and pretty, which makes you
wonder why they didn't use them on other kits sooner ^^;

As expected, it's a clean and solid kit with no major complaints.
The joint strength is great so it holds any pose well, and all of Cherudim's
unique options are nicely implemented. It's a little disappointing that there
aren't many significant improvements or additions over the HG, but the presence
that comes with the 1/100 scale is definitely a win! :-)
