Straight build

The last of the three 1/100 Designer's Color versions is the Seravee Gundam.
Like the others, it's a variation with brighter molded colors, a hefty amount of seals, and an added LED unit.
As for the molded colors, it doesn't feel like a dramatic change compared to the standard version. If you look closely, the body is brighter and the black areas have a higher value, but relatively speaking it doesn't look all that different.. If anything, the large number of seals added all over the body seem to be what really gives this kit its personality.

Since the Seravee Gundam is actually two robots combined into one, it comes with two LED units. One lights up the eyes of the Seravee itself, and the other illuminates the Seraphim's body — and that light-up effect on the Seraphim is seriously cool. Since the Seraphim's entire torso is essentially one giant face, the LED's range and brightness are far more eye-catching than on any other part, and it seems really useful for recreating scenes from the show.

The 1/100 Seravee is fundamentally a kit with greatly improved joint strength compared to its predecessor the Virtue, so despite that hefty backpack, it holds whatever pose you put it in nice and steady. The various combination gimmicks and details are clean too, making it a pretty solid kit quality-wise all around — and now with the seals and LED added, the overall look feels like a step up. Two LED units were added, yet the price only went up ¥600, so compared to the other Designer's Color versions, the price hike feels a little more reasonable. (The other kits went up ¥400 for a single LED unit addition.)

With this, all four Designer's Color variations for the Season 2 Gundams have been released, and with the seals and LED units added across the board, they've shaped up into a pretty premium lineup. If I were to rank these four Designer's Color versions from best to least, I'd personally go: Cherudim → 00 Raiser → Seravee → Arios. The Cherudim has the most noticeable molded color change, and thanks to the GN Shield Bits, the added seals have the biggest visual impact of the bunch. :-)
