Gundam Exia ~ Clear Color : Trans-Arm mode

Kit Review

This is the 1/60 Gundam Exia Clear Color ~ Trans-Am version, released as a 2008 Chara Hobby limited edition. The Trans-Am version — recycling the concept of "go red and you're three times faster!" — came out as a version bundled with the HG GN Arms at the HG scale, and as an Extra Finish version at 1/100, but oddly enough the 1/60 went with a clear color version instead.

First of all, the clear parts molded in a combination of pink and rose are absolutely stunning.. You can probably get a feel for it just from the photos, but seeing it in person it's incredibly dazzling. It's kind of like a big floral crystal, you know? It's not just plain pink — it's a really sultry, vivid color that's quite striking.

As for the kit's other characteristics, just like the regular 1/60 clear color version, the clear material tightens up the tolerances and makes the joints noticeably stiffer — which means despite its large size, it holds poses really well. There's nothing else particularly special about it, but either way this kit wins on the strength of its dazzling color alone. If you're after something sultry and sparkly (?), or looking for a kit to give as a gift to a female fan, this is a pretty unique gunpla worth recommending. :-)
