Kit Review
Straight build
The upper wings can be folded.
Unlike the Flag, the rear wings on the backside are fixed and don't fold.
Some decent-looking stand action poses.
This is a kit that absolutely needs a stand for any action posing.

The Enact finally got an HG release after three different HG Flag variants had already come out. It showed up in the very first episode as Exia's opponent, so you'd think it would've had some real presence — but throughout the series it always felt overshadowed by the Flag, its lookalike counterpart. The Enact really got its moment to shine when it appeared as the machine of that polka-dot villain, al-Saachez. Which is probably why al-Saachez's Enact Custom was the first one to hit shelves.
Structurally, the Enact is built on almost the exact same concept as the Flag. It's a transformable unit with similar proportions and a nearly identical transformation scheme — aside from the overall detail design, it practically feels like a variant of the Flag. The only real difference is that instead of the head retracting inward like the Flag, the Enact tilts its head back. Beyond that, the transformation style is basically a carbon copy.
Compared to the HG Flag series, the joints are overall a bit stiffer, which gives it a more stable feel — but the feet are much smaller relative to the body than on the Flag, so just getting it to stand upright on its own is quite a struggle;; I think this might be the first kit I've seen where the feet are this tiny compared to the overall size and height. The articulation isn't great either, which makes pulling off action poses while standing on the ground really tough. You're basically going to need an Action Base 2 if you want any dynamic poses.
Setting aside the tiny feet and so-so articulation, the kit itself has improved over the Flag in quite a few ways. The transformation gimmick is a bit more solid and convincing, and crucially, everything locks into place really cleanly after transforming — meaning the individual parts hold their position well. The rear wing not being able to move is a little frustrating, but the solid lockup more than makes up for the other shortcomings.
In the end, it's very similar to the Flag but with overall quality improvements across the board — a solid, no-fuss kit. The Enact isn't exactly a fan-favorite unit, but I can't help wondering if they subconsciously put a little extra care into the design because of its association with the legendary man himself... (h-hey now...) The deep pink molded color also looks surprisingly premium.
Since it's unclear whether a 1/100 version will ever see the light of day, if you've had any interest in the Enact — or on the off chance you're a fan of the villain al-Saachez...;) — this is a kit well worth picking up without hesitation.
