Just like the Season 1 Gundam Foursome were released in Trans-Am mode, the Season 2 protagonist 00 Raiser has now been released in Trans-Am mode as the Trans-Am Raiser. The basic molded color concept follows the same gloss injection style as the previous HG Trans-Am mode kits.
Unlike the other Trans-Am kits, the Trans-Am Raiser comes with special parts — specifically the GN Sword III that appeared near the end of the show. The GN Sword III's blade is done in green soft clear parts, giving it a really beautiful and realistic look. On top of that, Trans-Am beam parts that clip onto the GN Sword II and III have been added, which puts the price at ¥2000 — ¥200 more than the previous Designer's Color version of the 00 Raiser.
The red gloss injection color on the HG Trans-Am mode kit looks really nice and gives the kit a much more premium feel. The base 00 Gundam itself is top-tier among HG kits, so the structural quality is excellent as well. And above all, the added GN Sword III is just so sharp-looking that it really takes the overall quality of the kit up another notch.
It's a bit pricey at ¥2000 for a 1/144 HG kit, but in many ways the satisfaction level is high enough that you won't feel like you wasted your money. Even if you skipped the previous HG Trans-Am mode kits, the HG Trans-Am Raiser is definitely worth a closer look. ^^
