Watching the anime I thought "if this ever gets a kit, it's gonna be something else," and building it in person, yeah, it really is something else. After finishing it I let out a little "ohh..." of admiration. I honestly don't remember it doing all that much in the anime, but meeting it again as a kit, it's got a surprisingly strong personality that really hits you.

For starters, the black-and-white combination works pretty well, and the overall size is big while still having a nicely sleek design, so it's got real "presence." It does feel a bit cluttered with everything hanging off it, and the GN Claws do have some slightly iffy attachment points, but it looks flashy regardless.

The articulation is also top-notch, and the joints are solid, so the overall build quality and feel-in-hand are pretty high. The Tri-Punisher open gimmick on the chest and shoulders is well-executed, and the GN Claw opening and deployment works nicely too. That said, as mentioned in the review, the GN Claw open gimmick is a bit... off. Like whoever designed it was half asleep or something. Anyway, you'll know what I mean once you handle it — it does work, but something just feels weird about it.;

All things considered, this is a kit that easily earns a spot in the top 5 recommended HGs from the 00 lineup. The design has a strong Japanese aesthetic so it might be a love-it-or-hate-it thing, but at the very least it doesn't have that awkward, wide-stance weirdness of the Ahead — the color combo and the presence it has once finished are both seriously striking. If you're a Graham/Mr. Bushido fan, this is an obvious must-buy, and if you're looking for something that breaks away from the typical Gunpla feel, this is a great kit worth recommending too.
